First, the basics. My name is Todd Patterson. I'm a songwriter/artist in NYC.

I've long resisted starting a blog. My deep-seated love of privacy puts me at odds with the reflexive self-revelation of Internet culture. I dislike even the word "blog", which is probably the ugliest English word since "smegma".

Still, now that I'm beginning the slow process of segueing out of advertising and into a musical career, I suppose I have to get used to putting myself out there. I'm under no delusions that this blog will even approach the level of cool blogs like:
